What is headless mode?
If you have been researching drones, maybe you want to buy one, you will most likely ran into the term "headless mode." This term gets thrown around a lot specially when it comes to beginner drones, but what is it?
Basically what it does is allow pilots to stop worrying about their drone orientation and makes it easier for beginners to fly. This option will take away the necessity to know which way the drone is facing, not knowing which way your quadcopter will move is how most of crashes happen.
But how does it work? With headless mode the orientation of the drone is defined in relationship to the transmitter. So it does not matter where " the front " is facing if you want your drone to go right, press right, it will go that way since the orientation is based on your point of view. This will simplify the controls and make your life easier.
It is recommended that beginners turn this mode on for practice, and if you haven't decided on which drone to buy, here is our list of top drones under 50 dollars.
